Webster is home to HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake, at 500 Medical Center Boulevard, a 532-bed full-service acute care hospital with a Level II trauma center, a Level III neonatal intensive care unit and a dedicated pediatric emergency center. It is part of HCA Houston Healthcare’s network of hospitals across greater Houston.
Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital in neighboring Nassau Bay is also a short drive away, giving families in this area realistic access to two major hospital systems.
The surrounding corridor holds a dense cluster of specialist practices, imaging, rehabilitation and outpatient services. For a parent with complex or frequent medical needs, this is the most convenient part of the Bay Area to be in.
Geography worth knowing
Webster sits in Harris County along I-45, just north of the Galveston County line, wedged between Clear Lake, Nassau Bay and League City. It is compact enough that most of it is within a few minutes’ drive of the medical corridor.
NASA Parkway and I-45 are the main arteries, and the retail concentration around the Baybrook area brings significant traffic at peak times. If family will be visiting after work, the I-45 approach at rush hour is worth testing before assuming a location is convenient.
Because Webster borders several other municipalities closely, always confirm a community’s actual address and city. Marketing materials in this area use area names loosely.
Getting around
Webster is walkable in only a limited sense. The medical corridor is designed around cars and parking. For older adults, assume driving or community transportation rather than walking between services.
The upside is that appointment transportation is short. When a community is a few minutes from the hospital and specialist offices, its transport service can generally accommodate appointments easily. Confirm what notice is required and whether weekend transport is available.
